Jamie Lynn Spears found out she was pregnant in a petrol station bathroom

Celebrity Live: Aspiring singer Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister to Britney Spears talks about how she discovered she was pregnant in a petrol station bathroom at 16.

Spears speaking during the premiere episode of her reality series, Jamie Lynn Spears, said being pregnant was the last thing she ever expected.

“I don’t know how you can say this without feeling a little tacky,” she said. “I kept actually throwing up.” 

She said her friend advised her to take a pregnancy test.

“We didn’t want to do it at home, so I went in the BP and I took a pregnancy test,” she said. Needless to say, the test was positive. “I was like, ‘What? What? What?’” Spears recalled.

Spears said she had no doubt she would keep through with the pregnancy.

“At the end of the day, I knew I had to make a decision as a young girl myself to do something that I could sleep with every night. I knew deep down that I was going to have my little girl, even if I had to raise her on my own, and that’s what I did.”

Spears added that she “hid in the house for three weeks with two security guards after the news found its way out,”  “it was a real scandal situation at the time” she said.
Nine years on, Spears who raised her daughter Maddie with husband Jamie Watson, said she moved on from her then boyfriend Casey Aldridge.
