Jailed German nurse may have killed 27 patients
Germany: Germany police say a former nurse, Niels H who is currently serving a life
sentence after he admitted to had injected patients with deadly doses of
heart medication may also be responsible for the death of at least 27 others.
Niels was given life sentence on two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
During his trial last year, he admitted to administering overdoses of ajmaline to about 90 feeble, elderly patients so he could display great bravery and mastery by resuscitating them between the period of 2003 to 2005.
The remains of 99 former patients at the hospital in the Delmenhorst, Germany were examined by police investigators and was on Wednesday reported that traces of the heart medication had been discovered in 27 of the bodies.
According to prosecutor Thomas Sander, investigations would continue until Niels H's exact role in the killings had been determined.
