Halliburton Scandal: Governor Fayose dares president Buhari's wife to prove her innocence by travelling to US

Nigeria: Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose on Wednesday challenged the wife of the President of Nigeria, Hajia Aisha Buhari, to show her innocence of her involvement in the Halliburton scam by traveling to the United States.
Fayose on Monday claimed that the President’s wife was the person allegedly indicted by a US Court for transferring $170,000 to indicted US Congressman, Williams Jefferson, in the Halliburton scandal.
Although several media sources said she was not the one indicted in the report, but the governor insisted that Aisha Buhari had more to tell than she had agreed to, emphasizing that, the Nigerian first lady had refused to travel to the US.

Speaking in a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, on Wednesday, the Governor
“challenged the president’s wife to visit the United States of America to convince Nigerians that she was not the Aisha Buhari mentioned in the judgment convicting William Jefferson.”
“It is on record that the President has visited USA three times and his wife did not travel with him. Equally, she ought to have visited USA last year September to chair a United Nations programme but she sent wife of the Senate President, Mrs Toyin Saraki to represent her,”
