Lee Cattermole set for Middlesbrough return
Manchester United
boss Jose Mourinho is spearheading a £28 million bid for Basel's Breel
Embolo, according to the Sun. The report says the 19 year Swiss
international has Mourinho pulling out all the stops to guarantee his
signature, as club and player representatives have made contact. United
are
willing to offer Embolo almost £4 million a year in wages, which is
£76,000-a-week. Stoke are also keen to sign to midfielder, wanting him
to play alongside national teammate Xherdan Shaqiri.
Valencia reject Chelsea's £32 million Andre Gomes bid
Valencia have rejected a £32 million bid from Chelsea for Andre
Gomes, according to the Sun. The Portugal international is one of Antonio Conte's
main summer targets, with the La Liga club holding out for at least £42
million for his signature. Gomes made 41 appearances for Valencia last
season, scoring five times and finishing with 8 assists in all
competitions.
Mario Balotelli heavily linked with Besiktas
Out of form Liverpool
striker Mario Balotelli has been linked to a move to Besiktas,
according to The Sun. Balotelli is reportedly surplus to requirements at
Anfield, as his agent Mino Raiola has told the Turkish media that he
believes Besiktas will make an offer and that the Reds would likely
green-light a move. Balotelli spent last year on loan at AC Milan, where he only made eight appearances for one goal.
Middlesbrough are making a charge at getting Lee Cattermole back
to the club, according to the Daily Mail. The report says that 28 year
old midfielder will be subject to a return, as his former club has put
in a £5 million bid. Sam Allardyce is believed to be open to the move as
he seeks to repair the Sunderland squad, fresh from another relegation battle. Cattermole started his career at Middlesbrough, before heading to Wigan and then Sunderland.
