Football Paper Round: Arsenal and Chelsea in £25m battle for Boufal
Arsenal and Chelsea fight it out over Lille's Sofiane Boufal
Southampton put £40 million price tag on Liverpool target Sadio Mane
Swansea target Enner Valencia and Danny Ings in £10 million moves
Everton face £25m fee for Georigino Wijnaldum as Serie A clubs plan to pounce
London powerhouses Arsenal and Chelsea will go head to head in
the chase for Lille's Sofiane Boufel, according to the Guardian. The
report says that both Arsenal and Chelsea will face stiffer competition
from Spain, as the Morocco forward's agent confirmed talks with
Barcelona and interest
from Atletico Madrid. Lille signed Boufal from Angers
in January for £3.1m (4 million euros), leaving the 22 year old with a
host of clubs to choose from. Tottenham and Liverpool also showed
interest at one point, but only Arsenal and Chelsea have showed interest
in meeting Lille's asking price.
Southampton put £40 million price tag on Liverpool target Sadio Mane
Southampton have slapped a £40 million price tag on Sadio Mane,
according to the Sun. Liverpool have upped their pursuit of Mane, as the
player has reportedly also requested a fee of £125,000-a-week in wages.
Manchester United have also shown interest in the winger, however the move never materialised, leaving Jurgen Klopp open to push for his signature.
Swansea will send £10 million bids the way of West Ham and
Liverpool to capture Enner Valencia and Danny Ings, according to the
Sun. The report says that Swansea will be looking to bolster it's
attacking options for next season, as both Valencia and Ings could be on
their way to the Liberty Stadium next season if Swansea meet their
required transfer fee and wage targets. Valencia is reportedly under the
belief he could lose his place in West Ham's starting team as Slaven Bilic shops around for new attackers, while Ings sat out most of last season with a knee injury.
Everton would have to pay £25 million if they're to secure Newcastle's
Georigino Wijnaldum, according to the Mirror. Everton have been warded
off by the price tag slapped on the Dutch international, as interest has
been ramped by up Serie A clubs Napoli
and Roma. The report says that Ronald Koeman had been interested in
Wijnaldum when Southampton manager last summer, but the player had opted
for a move to Newcastle. The 25 year old came to Newcastle from PSV for £14.5 million last summer and found the back of the net on 11 occasions.
