Florida sheriff says 'no question' 2 year old pulled by alligator is dead.

US: A Florida sheriff says there's "no question" the 2 year old boy pulled by an alligator into a lagoon at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Orlando on Tuesday evening is dead. All effort is now focused on recovering the body and  hand it to the family.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Florida authorities said another alligator was found in the lagoon and Sonar remains in use in the search.

Authorities said Disney has done everything "by the book," noting the company has not had an incident in 45 years and that the company has a wildlife management system in place. The company keeps track of the animals and routinely take alligators off lakes and property. There is no fencing or structures to keep alligators out because there is not feasible option to do so, according to authorities.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the 2 year old boy was playing in about a foot of water when the gator attacked. The child's family, on vacation from Nebraska, was in a sandy beach area at the lagoon when the incident happened.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said the child's parents tried to rescue the boy and pull him from the gator's mouth, but were unsuccessful. The father sustained a cut on his arms during the attack. They immediately alerted lifeguards.

The alligator was described to be about four feet to seven feet in length, witnesses told investigators.
The lake is also stocked with fish and connects with a natural lake, Bay Lake.

Officials said there had not been reports received previously of alligators in that area.
FWC executive director, Nick Wiley, said, it's not common at all for people to be attacked by alligators. He said, "There is a sign on the beach that says 'no swimming,' but that is it. There is not a sign that warns about gators." He added that Florida has alligators in all bodies of fresh water. "I am optimistic that we will have some success, but it will take some time."
FWC has taken four aligators from the lake which will be euthanized.
Walt Disney World Resort Vice President Jacquee Wahler released the following statement: "Everyone here at the Walt Disney World Resort is devastated by this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with the family. We are helping the family and doing everything we can to assist law enforcement."
