Brexit: Putin lashes out at David Cameron after EU exit vote

Russia: Russian President Vladimir Putin during a press conference in Uzbekistan on Friday, spoke for the first time concerning the UK referendum just hours after British Prime Minister David Cameron announced his resignation, after Britons voted for the UK to exit the EU.

David Cameron had backed the 'Remain' campaign which he lost.
Putin took a hit at Cameron for comments he had previously made that a vote for Brexit from the EU would only profit those like Islamist militants and Putin who would rather prefer an unstable U.K. and EU.
Just over a month since that statement, Putin is responding in style taking a swipe at Cameron's conduct adding that Russia would never get involved in Britain’s decision making.
“The statements of the British Prime Minister Cameron prior to this vote, in which he claimed to voice the position of Russia, has no basis,” Putin said.
“I think this was nothing but a wrongful attempt to influence public opinion in his country.”
“This is nothing but a display of a low degree of political etiquette,” Putin said.
Frankly pointing out that even this rhetoric did not seems to yield the desired result for Cameron.
Putin also added that whether the decision had “more positives than negatives” only time could tell, but he believed that, as shown by the Briexit result, the majority of Britons did not want to be part of the EU.
“The number of binding decisions taken by the European Parliament as a percentage, is much greater than the number of binding decisions taken by the Soviet Union’s Supreme Council of the Federal Republic,” he said. “This means that the concentration of power there is very high. Some like that, some don’t…and it appears that the majority of people in great Britain don’t.”
Putin also acknowledged that Russia would “inevitably” feel the consequences of the referendum but doesn't believe the Briexit would have an impact on EU sanctions currently imposed on Russia over the Ukraine crisis.
