3 Year old boy dies after he was trapped in hot car while trying to get his toy

US: A 3 year old boy Evan Trapolino, from north Houston, who reportedly wandered into a  hot car to search for his toy died after he was unable to get out of the car, being trapped for up to 45 minutes on Thursday afternoon.

The boy was found dead in the back seat of the car after he suffered cardiac arrest, according to the Houston Fire Department, and was rushed to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital. Doctors were unable to save him.


A neighbor who who witness the incident said,
"They called 911 and started doing CPR and when they loaded him into the ambulance and left they were still doing CPR." 


A spokes person for Houston Police Department, Kese Smith said, the boy entered the car parked near a house to retrieve his toy from the back seat. He entered through the unlocked front door and climbed into the back seat.
Once he got into the back seat, he couldn’t open the back door because the child safety locks were on, Smith said.
His family found him around 30-45 minutes later and quickly called the emergency services for help.

The case is being investigated by Houston police and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
