24 dead, 26 missing in Indonesia floods and landslides

Indonesia: 24 people have been reported dead and 26 others declared missing from landslides and floods in parts of Central Java, Indonesia on Sunday.
According to the national disaster agency, it said torrential rains had prompted emergencies in 16 districts of the province since Saturday afternoon.
The agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said;
"Rescue operations are still underway to search for other victims, while dozens of houses are damaged and buried in the landslide and thousands of homes are inundated."
Five emergency rescue teams were deployed by the agency to assist the regional disaster mitigation agencies to search and evacuate the victims, and set up temporary covers for the victims.
Nugroho added that;
"Purworejo district is the hardest hit with the most people killed in numerous villages in the district."
