17 year old boy stabbed to death by homeless man over $2

US: A 17 year old boy Carl Ducasse from Bronx was stabbed to death by an unidentified homeless man at Walton Ave, after offering the man $2 on Friday evening. The suspect who is still at large stabbed Carl in his chest multiple times because the money he offered was too small, said mother of the victim.

A Police report said Carl who was set to graduate from high school this month, was stabbed multiple times in his chest late on Friday.
A friend who was with Carl when the attack happened told the family about the incident. According to him, they were approached by a homeless man begging for money. An argument flared up when a second man walked close to Carl and stabbed him. The suspect also stole his phone after he collapsed on the sideways.

He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, and efforts to save him failed
Carl's mother, Angela Ducasse, while weeping said:

“The homeless guy wanted more.” “He died because of $2. I can’t believe he’s gone.”

“He was never a kid of the streets,” said Angela Ducasse. “He was a regular teenager. He was never arrested. He said he wanted to be a lawyer. We already bought his graduation clothes.”

His Dad Carlos Ducasse, 49, said the suspect lived in a nearby homeless shelter.

“He wanted to go to college,” the dad said. “He wanted to be prepared for life.”

Police said no arrests have been made yet.
