10 killed as devastating flood sweeps across Ghana
Ghana: At least 10 people has been reportedly killed from the devastating flood ravaging parts of Ghana. An official of the National Disaster Management Organization NADMO, Sandy Amartey said the death toll in southern Ghana’s city of Cape
Coast’s has increased from five to ten due to the disaster caused by the flood.
Sandy, the Regional Coordinator of NADMO, said the flood
followed four days of torrential rains which wreaked havoc in the
coastal city, about 144 km west of the capital Accra.
He said some of the victims were swept away by the strong water current, some were electrocuted, while others were accidentally hit by broken walls.
He added that the bodies of the victims have been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
