Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump's rally held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Tuesday was marred with violence as a large group of protesters thought to be liberal activists and illegal immigrants tried to shut down the event as they threw rocks and bottles at police officers who responded with
pepper spray.

The police been short of numbers to tackle the crowd had to call for reinforcements from neighboring state, seeking to double their numbers to counter the protesters, who began to increase in numbers.
Police said at least one person was arrested in “the riot” and that multiple officers were injured after being hit by rocks.

The protesters were heard chanting anti-Trump slogans, held anti-Trump signs and waved Mexican flags.

Police said they made arrests both outside and inside the rally, where protesters continually interrupted Trump‘s speech.
