Hillary Clinton loses Oregon to Sanders but claim a narrow victory in Kentucky

US Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders on Tuesday night won Oregon's Democratic presidential primary while fellow candidate and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton notched a narrow victory in Kentucky, a result preventing Hillary from turning her full attention and resources to
challenge Donald Trump at the general election in November.
Sanders' recent performances threaten to expose Clinton's weaknesses but the outcomes of the results still leaves Hillary on track to clinch the nomination on June 7 in the New Jersey primary.
Sanders led Clinton 54 percent to 46 percent, out of the 77 percent precincts reporting in Oregon with a difference of just over 43,000 votes.
“We just won Oregon, and we’re going to win California,”  said Sanders to supporters in Carson, Calif., where he vowed to “take our fight” to July's Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
Sanders' victory was his 21st of the election cycle and his 11th in the past 17 contests.

In a race too close to call, Clinton led Sanders by just over 1,900 votes out of more than 423,000 that were cast out of the 99 percent of precincts reporting in Kentucky.
Clinton led Sanders 46.8 percent to 46.3 percent with 100 percent of the votes in according to Kentucky Secretary of State.

Clinton currently has 2,291 pledged delegates and super delegates to Sanders' 1,528. She requires a total of 2,383 to clinch the Democratic nomination.

In Oregon's Republican primary, Trump won 67 percent of the vote. John Kasich and Ted Cruz both got 17 and 16 percent of the vote respectively.
Trump won at least 17 of Oregon's 28 Republican delegates, with Cruz and Kasich each receiving at least three and five other delegates outstanding. Trump is just 77 delegates away from the threshold needed to claim the GOP nomination and has already amassed 1,160 delegates.
