Manchester United announce Jose Mourinho as Manager

 
Manchester United have officially named Jose Mourinho 53, as their new manager. The Portuguese and former Chelsea manager succeeds Manchester United former boss Louis van Gaal who was dismissed on Monday after he failed to guide the club into a place in next season's champions
league though lifting the FA cup.
Mourinho, who has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford since been sacked from his former club Chelsea penned a three-year deal at Old Trafford. 
Manchester United Executive Vice chairman Ed Woodward in a statement said;
"I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome him to Manchester United. His track record of success is ideal to take the club forward."
 Mourinho in response to the appointment said;
"To become Manchester United manager is a special honor in the game. It is a club known and admired throughout the world," 
"There is a mystique and a romance about it which no other club can match.
"I have always felt an affinity with Old Trafford; it has hosted some important memories for me in my career and I have always enjoyed a rapport with the United fans. I’m looking forward to being their manager and enjoying their magnificent support in the coming years."
The appointment had reportedly been delayed due to Mourinho image rights ownership.
Mourinho will be tasked rebuilding the playing staff and restoring United to its former glory in European football.
