Jose Mourinho unaware Chelsea owned his image rights

Jose Mourinho's imminent move to Manchester United seems to be dragging on for too long due to contractual issues over Mourinho's image rights.

Reports say, the former Chelsea manager was not aware Chelsea had registered his name as a trademark.
Mourinho is said to be angry with his agent Jorge Mendes when he discover his appointment has been delayed by image rights, believing that Jorge Mendes , should have made them a part of his severance
package when he was sacked by Chelsea in December.

Though the situation did not affect the negotiations and was never likely to scupper his move to United as both parties have now negotiated the hold-up.
A source said the image rights were never an issue, citing the 'goodwill on both sides' and that a deal for Mourinho was always 'going to take time', despite expectations among United fans.
Mourinho's arrival would be confirmed on Tuesday next week.
