Eurosport Paper Round: United fear Van Gaal could stop Aubameyang deal
The Daily Mail are reporting that Manchester United have serious concerns that Louis Van Gaal's presence at the club will prevent them from signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The report says some in the club's hierarchy believe that Van Gaal's
playing style and approaches will prevent them from convincing
Aubameyang to shift to Old Trafford. United are set to make a decision
on Van Gaal's future after their FA Cup Final appearance against Crystal Palace, as the club search for top summer transfer targets. Their failure to acquire prized targets Renato Sanches and Mats Hummels, has caused the club major internal concern.
Blossoming West Ham defender Reece Oxford has reportedly asked
for a pay rise and extra incentives to stay at the club, according to
the Sun. The report says the youngster wants £40k a week and a £1
million signing-on fee to commit to the club, while the Hammers are
holding out meeting those demands despite offering a significant pay
rise. It comes as the 17 year old has been linked to Manchester United
and Manchester City in £8 million moves, making him one of those most hyped English players heading into this summer's window.
Aston Villa's
£60 million takeover is complete, as the club searches for a new
manager for life in the Championship according to the Daily Mail. Villa
have been linked to former Chelsea
boss Roberto Di Matteo, who has reportedly already made contact with
the club. The other frontrunner, Nigel Pearson, has believed to have
slipped in the standings for the job due to the takeover.
Blues captain and icon John Terry will stay at Stamford Bridge
next year, according to the Sun. Terry turned down what was a massive
deal to head to China and cut his own Chelsea wage to stay on at the
club. Terry's wage was £150k a week, before dropping down to just £50k
next season while it's believed he would have been offered as much as
£12 million a year by a Chinese club.
