Egyptian man who sold everything to raise money for his wife's cancer surgery both died in EgyptAir flight MS804

An Egyptian man and his wife who sold everything to pay for life saving cancer treatment were killed onboard crashed EgyptAir Flight 804 carrying more than 66 people and their deaths leave their three young children as orphans. 

Ahmed Ashery, 31, sold his family's flat and car to raise money so his wife Reham could undergo cancer surgery in France, according the Egyptian newspaper Masrawy.
The couple left their young son and two daughters with his mother and spent a month in Paris, where Mrs Ashery had surgery and seemed on the path to a full recovery.
Mr Ashery called his family in Egypt on Monday and told them that they were finally coming home.
They boarded Flight 804 on Wednesday night excited to be reunited with their small children but the plane never made it back to Cairo, crashing instead into the Mediterranean.     
"Ahmed sold everything to save his wife and ease her grief," said Mohamed al-Shenawi, a family friend. "I advised him to accept the command of God and look for treatment in Egypt but he insisted on traveling. They spent a month and then they returned onboard the plane which didn't arrive and now will never arrive."

The couple had been married for eight years.
Their son, who is in primary school, and two infant daughters will stay with Mr Ashery's mother. Both of Mrs Ashery's parents died some years ago.
Their hometown of Mahalla was united in mourning at their loss. The nearby town of Mit Badr Halawa lost four people. A total of 30 Egyptians were killed in the crash.
