EgyptAir plane carrying 66 passengers has crashed in the Mediterranean Sea

 
Egyptian officials has confirmed that an EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo with 66 passengers and crew on board crashed in the Mediterranean Sea early Thursday morning.
EgyptAir Flight 804, an Airbus A320 with 66 people aboard, flying at 37,000 feet disappeared from radar at 2:45am Cairo time, the airline said. The plane disappeared 10 miles (16 kilometers) after it entered the Egyptian air space around 280km (175 miles) off Egypt's coastline north of the Mediterranean port city of Alexandria.
“Search and rescue has been dispatched and are now at the scene,” Said Ahmed Abdel, vice-chairman of EgyptAir.

Abdel said there were 56 passengers on board, which include one child and two babies and 10 crew members.
The nationalities of those on the missing flight include 30 Egyptians, 15 French, 2 Iraqis and 1 each from UK, Canada, Belgium, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Chad, Algeria and Portugal, the airline said.
 
An official who spoke on condition of anonymity said "the possibility that the plane crashed has been confirmed," as the plane hasn't landed in any of the nearby airports.
The official said a signal had been received from the plane two hours after it disappeared from radar, thought to have been an emergency beacon
