Brendan Rodgers appointed as Celtic manager on 12-month rolling contract

Former Liverpool and Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers has been named as Celtic new manager. Rogers agreed a 12 months rolling contract with the Scottish champions.

Rodgers has been out of work since been sacked as Liverpool manager in October.

"I am absolutely delighted to be named Celtic manager," Rodgers told Celtic's official website. "I will give my new role everything I have and do all I can to bring our supporters exciting, entertaining and winning football."
"We wanted to bring one of the biggest and best names to the Club to match our own aspirations and those of our supporters -- we believe, in appointing Brendan, that we have done this," said Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell.

Celtic have been searching for a new manager since April when Deila, who won the Scottish Premiership title in each of his two seasons in charge, announced he would leave the club at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
