Austria shooting: Gunman kills two and injures eleven at concert in Austria before killing himself

A gunman killed two people at a concert in western Austria town of Nenzing early Sunday morning before shooting himself dead.

The 27-year-old gunman fired randomly into a crowd of about 150 people attending an open air concert wounding eleven other people who are understood to be in a critical condition in hospital.
The man, reportedly got into an argument with a woman in a nearby car park at the open air venue

He is then thought to have returned to his car, retrieved a gun reported to be a rifle, and opened fire at the concert.
Police say he shot himself after returning to the car park.
 
Witnesses said many of the terrified concert-goers fled into the surrounding woodland and even onto the nearby motorway to escape the shooting.

Police spokeswoman Susanne Dilp said:"The exact course of events is still unclear" but she added the victims' wounds were "very diverse".

The event was being hosted at a property believed to be used by a motorcycle club called "The Lords".
Florian Kasseroler, the mayor of Nenzing, said the concert had been running for ten years and until now had never seen any trouble.

Police are continuing to investigate the scene and say they have no other details at this stage.
